Listen to Champian's music
Check out Champian's recent radio interview with Joe Zupan, host of Jazz New England on WICN.
In this special Valentine's Day engagement in our small cafe venue, vocalist and pianist Champian Fulton evokes the era of Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald with a set list ranging from high energy swing to sultry jazz classics. A recent recipient of the American Harvest Music Society for 2009 Best Jazz Vocalist & Pianist, this young musical phenom started performing at the age of 10 and has traveled to the sound of her own jazz band all the way from Oklahoma to New York City. She and her vibrant ensemble have played with world class musicians such as Louis Hayes and Jimmy Cobb, and regularly raise the roof at the legendary Birdland. Champian’s 2008 debut CD Sometimes I’m Happy released to rave reviews and she is set to release a new CD in early 2010.
Wine, beer, and delectable goodies freshly prepared by our chef will be available for purchase.
The timing of this event is a perfect pair for dinner at Picasso Restaurant in Barre: enjoy our matinee performance, then pop over to Picasso for dinner; or, you can dine at Picasso and then take in our evening show.
